Be kind to YOURSELF!

Imagine that you had someone with you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and that person were unable to leave your side–ever.

Now, imagine that you had to speak to that person all day, every  day, without pause. They could not respond and all they could do was listen.  Now, what if the majority of what you said to this person was negative? What  would happen if the main things that they heard were;  they were not good enough, strong enough, thin  enough, smart enough, pretty enough or successful enough?

And, when you did not spend that time hurling insults at them, you  would be insulting, criticizing and judging others? What do you think would  happen to this individual after a period of being exposed to a constant barrage
of negativity? They would more than likely become depressed, anxious, dejected  and would probably start to look awful and over a period of time, become ill,  right? No one could sustain a steady stream of negativity and survive
unscathed, right?

Here is the crazy thing about the above mentioned scenario…That person that is with you 24/7, is YOU!  We ARE that person with whom we are always having a constant conversation. No matter what we are doing physically,
we are in communication with ourselves, with our bodies – while it is not “spoken” communication; it is in the form of thoughts.

Sadly, most of the things we tell ourselves are not so positive. Think about that for a moment. Reflect on what you spend your time thinking  about majority of the day, every day. What do you think to yourself when you catch a glimpse of your body in the mirror? What do you tell yourself when things are not going exactly as you had planned?

We tend to feed ourselves a steady diet of self deprecation, without even realizing it. This can, over time, significantly affect our health and appearance. If we are to live the life that we fully deserve, we must tune into the conversation in our heads and re-word and replace self deprecating thoughts with those of a more positive, uplifting nature. This can significantly improve our lives, our health and ultimately, our appearance!

“When you’re good to yourself, you’re actually being good to everyone
around you because when you feel good, you’ll only react well to other people.
At the same time, it’s very easy for you to do things for other people when you
know that other people are just an extension of yourself.”
– Anita Moorjani

Daily
Exercise:

Yes, it will  feel totally odd and goofy at first, but if you stick to it, you will start to  feel so much better.

When you  awake in the morning, look into the mirror. Look into your own eyes (again, I  know this seems so cliché) tell yourself 5 things that you like about YOU and your life.  Just 5 things (if you can’t  think of 5 things, then you KNOW this exercise is for YOU, you need this!).  Tell yourself these 5 things genuinely. Resist the urge to focus on the things  you don’t like! Remember that you are speaking to the most important person in  your life!

The Power Of Thought

Do not under estimate the Power of thoughts.
Just as water
has the power to shift and mold earths landscape,

your thoughts
have the power to shift and mold the landscape

of your
life” –
Chuck Danes

It has been said that, the state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind. Unfortunately, most of us don’t fully understand this concept. We don’t fully realize the awesome power of our thoughts and the ability of our thoughts to mold our experiences and ultimately our existence.

Analysis has shown that the average person can have 2000-3000 thoughts per day; triggering with each thought, an immediate emotional and physical response.  With this, it is important to understand that every thought emits a vibration and frequency. This thought created vibration does not just disappear into the ether; it stays around you, attracting to you the very vibration that you sent out. Putting into perspective the fact that every thought we have affects, changes, and molds our body and environment; deeply connecting how we think and how we feel on a daily basis.

Even though most of us believe that we have no control over our thoughts, each thought is indeed a choice. We choose what we think about. When we focus our minds on negative thoughts, we can gravely affect our physical health.  In fact, there have been studies that have concluded that roughly 75% to 80 % of all physical manifestations of disease are a result of stress, and what is stress but a series of negative, overwhelming thoughts and perceptions.  Just because you happen to think a particular situation is stressful, does not actually make that situation stressful. It’s your perception of the situation that makes it so. Someone may experience the same exact set of circumstances and does not respond the same way. My point is that everything is a matter of perception. Everything starts with a thought. Improving the quality of your thoughts can significantly improve your physical and emotional health.

Here is another example of how powerful our thoughts are: You are laying in bed, completely safe, no danger around. You are laying there just thinking, envisioning some stressful situation that either has happened, or you anticipate happening. All of the sudden, your heart starts to race, you sweat, you may even start to tremble…..boom, anxiety attack! You have literally thought your way into an anxiety attack. Your body responded in the same way it would if there had been real, actual danger. You see, our bodies can’t tell the difference between our being in a real harmful situation, or, just thinking about being in a harmful situation. We will release the same amount of cortisol (stress hormone) and respond the very same way physically. It’s our thoughts  that trigger this response.

There are ways to navigate the way we think. It takes some serious active participation however. Every time you have a disempowering, negative, ego driven though, actively neutralize it and immediately replace it.  Tune into each passing thought. Any thoughts that are unpleasant and causes you any level of discomfort should be replaced with something positive, something empowering. Become fully aware of your thought patterns. What thoughts are you having repeatedly? What thoughts do you constantly reinforce?. This may feel odd at first, but over time, you will notice that it becomes second nature to think in a more positive way.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once  said that “the ancestor to every action, is thought” so harness the power of  your thoughts to attract to you the things you truly need. You really do have  the power to change your thoughts, and with that the ability to change your  life!

The road to “Happiness”

Ohh, the endless search for “happiness”. Why is it so very elusive, this “happiness”? Why do others seem to have “it” and I do not? When will it find me? Oh, if only i were thinner or prettier or richer or finally found my soul mate…..then I would be happy! right?.

I think the reason that this coveted “happiness” is so very elusive, is because it does not really exist! Not in the way we think it does. It never arrives in the form of tangible things. It never appears in the form of a person or a place. You can posses all the riches in the world, you could have traveled the globe, married the most attractive person that has ever lived, and still be a miserable S.O.B. 🙂

Unless or until, you take the journey into your inner sanctum, your soul, and find what is hidden there and who YOU really are, nothing will satisfy you. Allow yourself the privilege of getting to know yourself, get out of your own way. Let go of the past, learn from it. Stop fretting about the future, embrace the mystery of it. Be present in your life, live each day with purpose(there is purpose in everything we do). Live with gratitude, see your glass as not only half full, but positively spilling over. Stop comparing yourself to your friends, siblings, neighbors, celebrities or whomever you view as “having it better”. No one “has it better” just ask. Everyone has a story, everyone is fighting some sort of battle.

There is only one person in the entire world that could make YOU happy…..and that person, my friends, is YOU!. Look to yourself, you will find what you need! Remember that “happiness” is a relative term. It means something different to each of us, one man's happiness can be another man's hell. So stop trying to chase an idea of happiness that only exists in someone else's mind. Look inside, get rid of what no longer serves you, and fill up on the things that do. Once you do this, “happiness” abounds.

What are the benefits of Reiki or Energy work?

First and foremost allow me to explain what Reiki is;

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by  specific hand placement on what are called the 7 Chakras, or energy governing bodies, and is based on the
idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and
healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”.  The Reiki practitioner channels “life force energy” through positive intention and then attempts to balance the chakras and increase the bodies ability to heal itself.  You do not need to have any specific religious beliefs to receive Reiki. It’s about being open to the concept that the body, if given the opportunity, can and will heal itself. A Reiki session allows you to fully relax and let go, so that you can feel more balanced, thus allowing the body to release negative patterns and heal. Another thing that can help you relax is marijuana, learn more about High Guys Delivery here and get the best weed.
